Please check with reception staff before making an appointment to see the doctor if you need an item of service other than an NHS consultation. It is important to indicate the type of medical you require so that sufficient time is allocated to the appointment.
Fees for insurance medicals are usually paid by the requesting company, but most other services are normally paid by the patient. The receptionist will inform you in advance of any fees payable. Please note these are subject to change. We accept cash or cheques, but regret we are unable to accept Debit or Credit cards.
Dr Kieron Cooney is the registered Panel Doctor for the Isle of Wight. A Panel Doctor is a doctor who has been appointed by the New Zealand government to perform medical examinations on visa applicants who have applied from outside New Zealand.
Applicants should normally attend a panel doctor first (not necessary if applicant is notified that only an X-ray is required). If an X-ray is required subsequently, Dr Cooney will advise the applicant to contact the Radiology (X-ray) department at St Mary’s Hospital, Newport, Isle of Wight PO30 5TG Tel: 01983 524081.
It is the responsibility of the patient to arrange and pay for any X-rays required.
Applicants should not book a visa medical examination until they have been formally requested to do so by the office processing their visa application.
